Whether it's a link to leave feedback at the bottom of your restaurant receipt, or Amazon emailing you about your recent purchase, it seems like someone is always asking you to write a review. These requests can be annoying, especially from some of the more persistent businesses, but there’s a reason everyone wants them – reviews can make or break an entire company. Why Are Reviews Important? There are a lot of options in today’s day and age when it comes to products and services. If you need a plumber, there could be dozens in your area to choose from. If you’ve already hired a plumber in the past, and they did a good job, then you know who to call. But if you’ve never hired a plumber before, how can you narrow down your options? The first way most people start is by asking their friends and family for recommendations, or even for warnings of who to stay away from. It’s easier to know who to call if someone you trust had a good experience, or who not to call if someone had a bad experience. The second thing people look for are reviews. In lieu of personal recommendations from people you know, or sometimes in addition to them, personal recommendations from other customers can go a long way in helping you decide which company to pick. The more positive reviews a company has, the more you know you can trust that they’re a good, reliable service. That’s why most companies will bug you to leave them a review after you use their service or purchase their product – the more reviews they have, the more likely new customers are to choose them. Small Business ReviewsGetting reviews is even more important for small businesses, like us here at Classic City Arborists. We aren’t really in the game of targeted advertisements and highway billboards; we reach our community through social media posts, our blog, and of course, customer recommendations and reviews. As a smaller company, our customer base is also smaller, so even if the same percentage of customers leave us a review as the bigger brands, we’ll still have fewer reviews overall. Potential new customers might choose the company with the higher review count on that basis alone, so it’s important for us to try to get as many customers as possible to leave us a review. Search engines, like Google, also prioritize businesses with more reviews in their search results. So, when someone is searching for tree service in our area, the more reviews we have, the more likely they are to see our company as an option. Reviews as FeedbackReviews are also important as a form of constructive feedback. Customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us, and reviews are an easy way for you to let us know how we’re doing. You can brag on the things we did well, so we know we’re on the right track, or point out where we could do better, so we know what to focus on to improve moving forward. Of course, no one likes getting a bad review. But they show us what we can do better, and also often give us a chance to work with our customers to fix any issues and make it right. How to Leave Classic City Arborists A ReviewIf you’ve used us in the past and would like to leave us a review, we’d love to hear from you! The best place to leave a review is on Google. That’s where most people look when seeking out reviews, and it’s also the search engine most people use when searching for new service providers. So there you have it! Hopefully, this helps you understand why everyone is always bugging you to leave reviews, and maybe even convinced you to leave us a review yourself! Either way, thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about our small family business. If you’re in need of tree service, contact us today to schedule your free estimate!
